On 31th of October, we organised an internal QA Practice Lunch for our OnDemand team.
We talked about API testing and why its so important. Generally speaking, testing should be employed for three basic purposes – to validate a solution, to maintain a solution, and to eradicate an error.
The most fantastic API is utterly worthless if it can’t be depended upon. Thus, testing to validate the implementation is key.
Its most valuable advantages are:
1) Testing the core, code-level functionality of the application provides an early evaluation of its overall build strength. Testing the core, code-level functionality of the application provides an early evaluation of its overall build strength.
2) Its time effective, API testing is far less time consuming than functional GUI testing.
3) Its Language-Independent, In an API test, data is exchanged using XML or JSON. These transfer modes are completely language-independent, allowing you to select any core language when pursuing automated testing services.
