Demandware Lecture

On 20 March, we organised a free lecture on Salesforce Commerce Cloud Platform (Demandware) in our office. Developers from one of our clients Blueleaf shared their knowledge and experience with the platform and demonstrated its capabilities. They started with an in-depth technical presentation on how to use the platform. From out-of-the-box SiteGenesis projects to pushing the boundaries of the platform with more bespoke work, they illustrated the platform with live examples from their recent projects, including the Ticketing system for Tate.

One of the main benefits of the platform is that it significantly reduces the time for setting up the infrastructure of a new website because it can automatically scale and support company’s business objectives. Demandware allows businesses to grow faster, launch multiple brands and go global since they can manage real-time product quantities across different locations. In addition, it significantly increases productivity because developers can use a common infrastructure to create many sites. Furthermore, they can use a single template to deliver personalised experience and tailor websites to different customer needs.

Over 20 participants attended the lecture. During and after the end of the lecture, they asked a lot of questions about the platform native features and opportunities for customisation and extensions. They were also interested in the integration solutions the Salesforce Commerce Cloud Platform provides and its advantages compared to other ecommerce platforms like Magento. They learnt that Demandware is a preferred choice by businesses looking for greater scalability and personalisation.
