AWS Sofia 2018

AWS Sofia 2018 is the first Amazon Web Services conference organised in Bulgaria by TechHuddle. It was held on 19 April 2018 in Inter Expo Centre, Sofia. Sponsors of the conference were Holiday Extras, Tide, and Bede Gaming. Main topics discussed were serverless applications, containers, artificial intelligence and machine learning (find conference agenda below).

The keynote speaker Julien Simon is a Principal Technical Evangelist at Amazon Web Services and holds all seven AWS certifications. Prior to joining AWS, he spent 12 years in the Telecom industry. He has served for 10 years as CTO/VP Engineering in top-tier web startups where he led large Software and Ops teams in charge of thousands of servers worldwide.

The conference was a great success. We received extremely positive feedback from the participants:

  • 95% rated the overall organisation (venue, registration, location and refreshments) from "Good" to "Excellent" with the majority rating excellent.
  • 93% rated the AWS presentations from "Good" to "Excellent" with the majority rating excellent.
  • 97% of the respondents would attend a future event organised by TechHuddle.
